This set of six French chairs, dated 1940, is in the style of Victor Courtray. Their carved wood frames have a medium stain and an original finish with a patina acquired over time. The seats and backs retain their original woven rush. The weaving forms geometric patterns on the seats and horizontal bands across the backs. Carved details decorate the front legs and stretchers, while the rear uprights continue up to the backs.
