Set of 6 chairs from the 1940s by Charles Dudouyt, edited by La Gentilhommière, in oak and mustard velvet. These pieces perfectly illustrate the designer’s robust and structured language, where simple volumes are enriched by subtle work on proportions and joinery. The solid oak structure, with its strong lines and rhythmically carved legs, conveys both a rustic and modernist presence. The slightly inclined backrest and generous seat provide balanced comfort, while the mustard velvet adds warmth and a luminous touch. The upholstery remains in good vintage condition, showing a patina consistent with its age, though reupholstery could enhance the overall presentation. Our workshop can handle the restoration upon request, in keeping with the original spirit. Signed pieces.
