Set of 6 Chairs by Charles Dudouyt. Ed. La Gentilhommière

Set of six solid oak chairs by Charles Dudouyt, produced by La Gentilhommière in the 1940s. Their compact silhouette combines substantial legs with slightly inclined rectangular backrests. Geometric stepped details articulate the front legs, while narrow vertical grooves mark the centre of the front seat rails. Stepped cylindrical elements flank the backrest panels, framing the visible grain of the wood. The padded seats are covered in deep red velvet. Their rich colour contrasts with the dark patina of the oak and emphasises the clearly defined lines of the frames. The chairs are shown with their current upholstery and require reupholstering. Our in-house upholstery workshop can undertake the full restoration and help select fabrics suited to the character of these pieces.
