Set of 4 "Bauche" Chairs: diagonal row of three chairs facing frontally of the fourth one

Set of 4 "Bauche" Chairs by Charlotte Perriand. Ed. Steph Simon

The Model No. 19 chair was designed by architect Charlotte Perriand in the 1940s. The inspiration for this now iconic chair came to Perriand from his experiences in the French countryside and his contact with peasant furniture. Two versions are recognizable, one with a straight back (not very comfortable) and another with a slightly inclined back, perfectly ergonomic. Our set of chairs belongs to the last group. Our four chairs are in very good condition, the straw is from origin. The dark patina and the traces of use on the straw are simply magnificent.
