Created by the iconic duo Elizabeth Garouste and Mattia Bonetti for the publisher BGH, this pair of Koala armchairs embodies the sculptural and free-spirited nature of French design from the 1980s and 1990s. Their singular design, composed of rounded lines and almost instinctive volumes, evokes a form that is at once welcoming, expressive, and deeply organic. The generous proportions and enveloping silhouette of these armchairs perfectly reflect the world of Garouste & Bonetti, situated at the crossroads of design, sculpture, and decorative furniture. The patinated bronze feet, discreet yet sophisticated in presence, emphasize the precious character of the model and reinforce its sculptural identity. The armchairs are presented in their original sky blue velvet; however, new upholstery work is recommended. Our in-house workshop can undertake a complete restoration, offering fabric selections respectful of the spirit and character of the pieces.
