Riaza Chairs: overview of the chairs in a row, both facing opposite directions

Riaza Chairs by Paco Muñoz. Ed. Darro

Like other designers of the 1950s, Paco Muñoz was inspired by his country traditional furniture. The task is not easy, but Muñoz knew how to achieve it masterfully. The proof is the Riaza saddle model, which modernized and stylized the lines of the classic Iberian hunting chairs. The structure of these chairs, made of walnut wood, serves as a solid support for the fauve colored leather. The result is a clean aesthetic, without forgetting comfort. Paco Muñoz was a design pioneer in a Spain that was very closed to the world in the 1950s due to the Franco dictatorship. To market his creations, he created the Darro Gallery. The brand was almost immediately successful among the culturally minded Spanish middle class.
