Pair of Monumental Lounge Chairs by Jean Pascaud

A masterpiece of 1930s French design, this pair embodies the full rigor and modernity of Jean Pascaud’s vocabulary. Their powerful design, with solid volumes and rounded lines, elegantly reflects the spirit of French decorative furniture from the interwar period. Fully reupholstered using traditional techniques, these armchairs are upholstered in Duke mohair in Safran and Arsène in Quinoa by Pierre Frey. The feather-filled cushions provide deep comfort that matches the generosity of their proportions, while the large dark wood armrests reinforce their architectural presence. These armchairs also stand out for their distinctive details, notably their integrated side compartment, as practical as it is unexpected. A spectacular pair with strong character, ideal for anchoring an interior with strength, refinement, and distinction. Model documented in: Mobilier et Décoration, February 1949, no. 32, p. 32.
