Pair of Lounge Chairs In The Manner of Paul Dupré-Lafon – France, 1940
This pair of low chairs, very wide and comfortable, made in France around the 1940s in the spirit of Paul Dupré-Lafon, stands out for its effortless and understated elegance. The lines are simple, almost self-evident, shaping a low, grounded and perfectly balanced silhouette. The generous cushions, both defined and inviting, rest on a base subtly highlighted by a nailhead trim. The whole composition reflects a controlled restraint, where comfort is expressed without heaviness, in a language that is both soft and structured. Both restrained and deeply refined, these chairs embody the quiet luxury characteristic of mid-century French design. They integrate naturally into curated interiors, bringing calm, coherence and presence. The armchairs are presented with their original upholstery. Reupholstery is recommended and can be fully carried out in our workshop, with careful attention to preserving the original spirit and proportions.
