Pair of Art Deco Palmwood Veneer Armchairs - France, 1930
This elegant pair of French Art Deco armchairs from the 1930s is distinguished by its sober and architectural lines, characteristic of furniture from the interwar period. Crafted in palmwood veneer, they feature balanced silhouettes with enveloping armrests and generous proportions, evoking the understated refinement of French Art Deco furniture. The contrast between the warmth of the exotic veneer and the clean geometry of the structure gives the ensemble a presence that is both sophisticated and timeless. The curved lines of the armrests soften the rigor of the composition, in a manner reminiscent of French modernist creations from the 1930s. The armchairs are presented in their original upholstery; however, new upholstery work is recommended. Our in-house workshop can undertake a complete restoration, offering fabric selections respectful of the period and the character of the pieces.
