Pair of Armchairs - France, 1925 attributed to Maurice Dufrene

Pair of French Art Deco bergères dating from 1925. Their scrolled backs continue into the curved lines of the arms. The moulded and carved wood frames feature fluted arms decorated with stylised flowers. A floral frieze ornaments the front legs. The camel velvet upholstery is outlined with decorative nailheads. The current foam upholstery was redone approximately 20 to 30 years ago. The armchairs are shown with their current upholstery and require reupholstering. Our in-house upholstery workshop can undertake the full restoration and help select fabrics suited to the character of these pieces.
