Oak Table with Carved Decoration - France, 1940 in the style of Le Même et Pierre de la Londe

This oak table, in the style of Le Même and Pierre de la Londe, has a rectangular top framed around an interlaced geometric pattern. Extensions lengthen the top at either end. The apron combines horizontal lines with a central carved decoration of wheat ears. The banded legs give the table an architectural presence. At the base, a stretcher with broad branching sections connects the legs and accentuates the interplay of volumes.
