Oak Coffee Table

This rare coffee table made of oak shows an art deco style and patina that make its creation estimated to be around the 1940s. Its robust structure has six wide legs with rounded geometric patterns, which support a thick round surface. This solid composition, consistent with the strength of the material, is mixed with thin crossbars that connect its legs around the perimeter of the piece. Through the dark finish, eloquent natural grooves in the wood are revealed, which speak of the life of this piece. Although due to its rarity it does not appear in catalogs, its authorship is commonly attributed to the designer Charles Dudouyt. This can be seen in the oak work and in the figures that make up the structure of the table, both typical elements of a key author in the transition of design towards modernism.
