Neoclassical Art Deco Table by Emmanuel Volpe

This neoclassical Art Deco table, made in France in 1930, has a rectangular top with clipped corners. Its surface combines diamond shapes in varied shades of brown within a plain border. The gently curved apron rests on four tapered legs. Carved motifs accent the tops of the legs, while a moulded edge frames the tabletop. The sideboard from the ensemble to which this table belongs is documented in Petits et Grands Meubles Nouveaux, 2nd series, Paris, Éditions d’Art Charles Moreau, 1935, plate 24.
