Modernist Walnut Occasional Table - France, 1930

This French modernist occasional table from 1930 is made of solid walnut. Its circular top displays the grain and varying tones of the wood, framed by a recessed edge. Below the top, vertical panels connect two circular tiers. Their offset arrangement creates an architectural silhouette, contrasting straight lines with rounded forms. The geometry recalls the work of 1920s decorators such as Pierre Chareau and Djo Bourgeois; it is not an attribution to either designer.
