These Manille Écorsé chairs, designed by Bernard Govin and produced by Eguizier, illustrate a singular approach to furniture from the 1960s–1970s, where structure becomes expression. The circular backrest and enveloping seat reflect an immediate sense of comfort, while asserting a strong formal identity. The sculptural base, composed of twisted peeled rattan rods, creates a dynamic, almost architectural effect. This work with rattan, both raw and controlled, plays with rhythm, solids and voids, giving the piece a striking graphic presence.
