These Manille Écorsé chairs, designed by Bernard Govin and edited by Eguizier, reflect a distinctive approach to seating from the 1960s–1970s, where structure itself becomes expression. The circular backrest and enveloping seat convey an immediate sense of comfort while asserting a strong, recognizable silhouette. The sculptural base, formed from twisted strips of stripped rattan, creates a dynamic, almost architectural presence. The rhythm of the uprights and the visible craftsmanship give the piece a raw yet controlled character, typical of Govin’s organic modernism.
