Larch Table with Round Top - France, 1950

This large larch dining table has a circular top with a rounded edge. It comes from France and dates from 1950. The top shows the lines of the boards, the grain and the knots in the wood. Its warm colour complements the simplicity of the circular form. A flared central pedestal rests on a round base with three feet. The layered forms of the base echo the outline of the top.
