This “Koala” sofa or daybed, designed by Garouste & Bonetti and produced by BGH in the 1980s, stands out through its free-flowing asymmetrical silhouette and almost organic lines. The undulating backrest wraps around the seat in a continuous movement, giving the piece an immediately recognizable sculptural presence. Fully upholstered in light blue velvet, the design plays with soft, uninterrupted volumes that contrast with the more architectural rigor of traditional furniture. The small tapered wooden feet reinforce the lightness of the composition while emphasizing its low and elongated proportions.
