Elm Dining Table. Ed. Ébénisterie Seltz
This large elm table, produced in France around 1980 by Ébénisterie Seltz, reflects the manufacturer’s commitment to rigorous craftsmanship and understated design. With its generous 225 cm length, the piece asserts a strong architectural presence while remaining firmly rooted in a tradition of functional, well-balanced furniture. The thick solid-elm top is softly contoured, its gently rounded edges highlighting the natural movement of the wood. From above, the tabletop reveals a continuous, carefully composed grain, demonstrating the quality of the selected elm and the precision of its execution. The table rests on two solid pedestal legs, vertically fluted and subtly curved at the base. This measured dialogue between mass and softness lends the piece both stability and visual lightness, characteristic of Ébénisterie Seltz’s high-end production in the late twentieth century.
