Brutalist Sideboard. Ed. Biosca

This sideboard by Biosca reflects the restrained architectural language of Spanish modernism during the 1950s–1960s. Crafted in solid pine, it combines rigorous geometry with a warm, tactile materiality, embodying a distinctly Iberian interpretation of postwar design. The façade is defined by deeply carved square panels arranged in a strict geometric grid. This sculptural relief creates a refined interplay of light and shadow, giving rhythm and depth to the otherwise monolithic form. Both functional and expressive, the piece possesses a quiet monumental presence. Its balanced proportions, solid construction, and rich natural patina highlight Biosca’s ability to elevate utilitarian furniture into a timeless and highly collectible design object.
